24 Hour Wristbands
I posted before about some of the things 24 hour wristbands was doing that said a lot about how stupid they think their customers are. However, it seems they either think everyone in the world is stupid or at least that I’m stupid.
24 Hour wristbands contacted me and wanted me to start doing some affiliate marketing for them. They offered a pretty nice offer at 50%. They were thinking that I would do the marketing on their site and then they could cut me loose and keep the site and marketing for themselves. But when I said that I would be using my own site they didn’t want any part of it.
When someone does affiliate marketing it is normal that they use their own site. After all, I’m not getting paid unless my efforts lead to a sale. This means that I’m spending loads of time and money trying to get leads from my site to theirs.
By using my site I’m able to track the leads from me to them as well as keeping control of the work I’ve done. It normally takes 3 to 6 months to get a site ranking and getting good enough traffic to turn a profit. This means I work for free for 3 to 6 months. If I’m working on the 24 hour wristband site it means at any moment they can cut me loose and keep all my work.
No one does affiliate marketing on the site owner’s site. It makes it impossible to track who’s done what. And the only reason 24 hour wristbands would have made the offer is if they had planned to try and screw me.
I’ve been told by many people that it’s the way 24 hour wristbands likes to do business however, they may want to rethink their business plans when doing business online. Where word gets around fast.
